9G - Matteo, IZ4YGS will be active again as 9G5GS from Sanzule, Ghana on 1-26 February. In his spare time he will operate FT8 and SSB on 160-20 metres. He also plans some USB activity on the QO-100 Geostationary satellite. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or direct to home call; logsearch on Club Log.
9M2 - Look for 9M2SAF/p to be active from Pulau Lalang Perak (AS-072), West Malaysia on 21-27 January. He will operate CW, SSB and digital Modes on various bands, depending on propagation. QSL direct to home call.
9Q - DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO. Paolo, IK7UXW, is now active as 9Q1C from Gombe, Kinshasa. His length of stay is unknown at this time.

C5 - Russell, G5XW will be active holiday style as C5XW from The Gambia starting on 28 January for ten days. He will be QRV on 40-17 metres SSB and hopefully some slow CW.

CE0Z - Nando, IT9YRE and Mike, K9AJ will be active as CB0Z from Alejandro Selkirk Island (SA-101, new one for IOTA) on 3-5 February. DXCC wise, this counts for Juan Fernandez. They will operate SSB and CW on 40, 30, 20, 17 and 15 metres, using vertical antennas and two stations (one running 500 watts). They might also give FT8 a try.

DL - DL35SDR is the special callsign for the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club (DARC) to mark 35 years of software-defined radio (SDR) technology throughout 2020. It also honours Ulrich L. Rohde, DJ2LR (N1UL), who was the first to describe the possibilities and perspectives of SDR in 1985. QSL via the bureau.
E5_sc - Don, VE7DS will be active as E51DDG from Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cook Islands on 2-14 February. He will operate CW only on 40, 30, 20 and 17 metres. QSL via LoTW, or via home call.
HC - Rick, NE8Z will be active again as HC1MD/2 from the lighthouse at Capay on Hill, in the Santa Elena province of Ecuador, from 25 January to 7 February. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on 40-10 metres. QSL via LoTW, or direct to K8LJG.
LX - LX20I is the special callsign for the LX7I contest station in Eschdorf, Luxembourg to celebrate its 20th anniversary. It will be used for most contests in 2020, starting a single-operator entry in the CQ WW 160-Meter CW Contest (24-26 January). QSL via LX2A. OX80/OZ80 - GREENLAND AND DENMARK (Special Event). Many Greenlandic and Denmark radio amateur stations will be celebrating the 80th birthday of H.M. The Queen of Denmark in these two DXCC entities. Look for special event stations OX80HM and OZ80HM to be active on all bands until April 16th. QSL via OZ1ACB OQRS. A special royal award will be available. P4 - Lee, K3DMG will be active again as P4/K3DMG from Aruba (SA-036) from 17 January until the end of February. He will operate CW and digital modes. QSL via LoTW.
PJ2 - Jeff, K8ND will be active as PJ2ND from Curacao (SA-099) from 18 January to 3 February. QSL via LoTW, or via home call. On 22-28 January he will be joined by Jim, W8WTS, who will be QRV as PJ2/W8WTS (QSL via LoTW, or via home call). They will participate in the CQ WW 160-Meter CW Contest as PJ2T (QSL via LoTW or via W3HNK).
PJ4 - BONAIRE. Klass, PA1KE, is now active as PJ4/PA1KE as of January 18th. His length of stay, bands and modes were not provided. QSL via eQSL.
PY - Celebrating the 86th anniversary of the Liga de Amadores Brasileiros de Radio Emissao (LABRE, Brazil's national IARU society), special callsign ZW86LABRE will be active between 1 February and 31 March. QSL via PY2KP.
TA - A large team (including TA3A, TA3AER, TA3EL, TA3LHH, UA9CDC, UR0MC, US2YW, UT5ECZ, UT5EL, UW8SM and UZ5DX) will participate in the CQ WW 160-Meter CW Contest (24-26 January) as TC0X from Bozcaada (AS-099). QSL via HG5DX. The log will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log.
TI9 - The website for the TI9A DXpedition to Coco’s Island is up and running on http://ti9a.info/. Four operators - TI2JV, RA9USU, RM2D (SM6LRR) and UA3AB - will be active on 2-8 February from two operating sites (one for CW and SSB, and one for FT8) at Chatham Bay. QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred), or via UA3DX.
XE - Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the DXXE Group, special callsign 4A15DXXE will be active on all bands and modes and from different locations in Mexico betweeen 20 January and 31 December. QSL via LoTW only. DXXE Group's members in other countries will join the celebrations: CO8ZZ as T40DXXE from Cuba (20-31 January), EA5BB as AO15DXXE from Spain (1-15 April), EA8RM as AO15DXXE/8 from the Canary Islands (1-15 April), and F4GVO as TM15DXXE from France (1-15 April).

AF-019. Operators Silvo/S50X, S51V, Krajcar/S52P, Peter/S54W, Pavla/S56DX, Berto/S56N, Slavko/S57DX and Drago/S59A will be active as IG9/homecall from Lampedusa Island between January 21-27th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, using CW, SSB, the Digital modes, and this will include the CQWW DX 160m CW Contest (January 24-26th) as a Multi-Op entry signing as IG9/S59A. AS-072. Safri, 9M2SAF, will be active as 9M2SAF/P from Pulau Lalang Island (AS-072), Perak, West Malaysia, between January 21-27th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and the Digital

AS-099. H.M. Qaboos bin Said al Said, A41AA, died on 10 January aged 79. The Arab world's longest-serving ruler, he was the Sultan of Oman for nearly fifty years. The Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society (ROARS) was formed on 23 December 1972 under his patronage.
Igor Lvovich Zeldin, UR5LCV (ex UB5LCV) passed away on 11 January at 66 years of age. An active DXer licensed since 1973 and former President of the Ukrainian Amateur Radio League, he authored several books on technical topics and was the IOTA Checkpoint for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.
Peter Glasmacher, DK5DC died unexpectedly on 12 January, aged 68. A well known DXer and a DXCC Card Checker, he was the editor of the monthly DX column in "CQ DL", the official journal of the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club. He also served as President of DARC's District O (Westfalen-Sued) for the past six years.
