IOTA DXPEDITION ON HOLD ---> Cezar, VE3LYC and Adrian, KO8SCA expected to be active as V62P (requested callsign) from Polap Atoll (OC-155), and as V62S (requested callsign) from Satawal Atoll (OC-299, new one for IOTA) during the first half of May. The project is currently on hold, though, because Micronesia has been placed "under a state of emergency to address the effects of the Coronavirus. As a result, visitors from countries where contamination cases are reported will be denied entry, unless they undergo a 14-day quarantine in Hawaii or Guam. The team cannot afford the additional time and expenses associated with the quarantine provision. Consequently, we remain in stand-by", VE3LYC announced on 20 February, "waiting for the state of emergency to be lifted. Depending on when this will occur, we will either confirm the existing time schedule or negotiate with the charter provider in order to establish a new time schedule". REBEL DX GROUP'S PLANS ---> "We are on track with 3Y0I Bouvet project", the Rebel DX Group posted to Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/rebeldxgroup/) on 18 February. "Still missing some budget but we are getting closer and closer. Second attempt will take place in December 2020". Before that, the Rebels plan to operate from Banaba Island as T33T ("this activity will start in first half of 2020"), from Tuvalu as T22T (https://www.qrz.com/db/t22t)
and from Fijian IOTA groups OC-156 and OC-121 "during April".

VP8PJ ---> The "Braveheart" reached Signy, South Orkney Islands on 20 February. The team reported they had "ice to contend with regarding our planned landing area", and waited for the winds to change and blow the ice out. The following day they were able to get the equipment ashore and move it to their preferred site. The team anticipates that it will take two days (21 and 22 February) to set up camp.
PD3H Note: Latest news from DX-World is, that they are on the island, and setting up there camp.
Plans are to get on the air on Sunday, February 23
Monday Febuari, 24: Yes they are on the air, Very busy on 20 Mtr… see also dx-cluster

W8S: POSTPONED ---> "In close cooperation with Alex Jennings, the representative of Swains Island, the team has decided to postpone the W8S DXpedition to Swains Island to autumn of 2020", the team announced on 18 February (https://swains2020.lldxt.eu/). "The reason behind this postponement is the travel restrictions when entering American Samoa, restrictions imposed by the Department of Health of American Samoa as a result of the Corona virus outbreak. The Department of Health allows non-residents to enter American Samoa only via Hawaii, after a 14 days mandatory quarantine in Hawaii. For the team this is not a workable situation. It would require extending the holiday time by an additional 2 weeks, re-routing of the flights and purchasing new tickets etc. Everything is prepared for our DXpedition, and we are eager to go, but unfortunately the C orona virus outbreak is out of our control". Those who have already made a donation and wish to withdraw it, are invited to contact the team.
